FAQ

  • What Is food{together} Cambridge?

Food{together} Cambridge is a non profit social enterprise made up of people right here in Cambridge that has the goal of making seasonal fresh fruit and vegetables accessible to everyone in our community at affordable prices, typically half the price of what you would pay elsewhere. We work in partnership with the national arm of food{together} to ensure we can get the best quality fruit and vegetables sourced from the markets at the best possible price for you.

  • What do I get?

You get great quality seasonal fruit and vegetables, purchased fresh from the markets that same day. Our popular $15 Standard Value bags (that’s one bag of fruit and one bag of vegetables for $15) are great value for money. For just $2.50, we can deliver all over Cambridge and Leamington (township only). We publish produce lists for each week on our website and send out a weekly email of what you can expect to be in the bags the following week. Note the content of your order varies from week to week depending on what is available at the local market and what season it is.

  • How do I order and where do I collect my produce?

Please sign up and create an account with us either online or you can drop into our office situated in the Cambridge Baptist Church at 58 Queen Street, Cambridge and they will organise it for you. Once you have your log-in, you can go to our shop, select your produce and delivery option and proceed to the check-out. Orders must be in by midday Wednesday for pick-up or delivery on a Thursday. Pick up times on a Thursday are 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm and 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm and Friday 9:00 am -12:00 pm at 58 Queen Street, Cambridge.

  • What if I forget to collect my order?

Orders can be collected from the Cambridge Baptist Church office between 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm and 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm on a Thursday or at the church office Friday 9:00 am -12:00 pm. Any orders that are not picked by midday will be donated to someone within our community.

  • Helping the community

We believe at the core of any thriving, healthy community is the desire to look after the disadvantaged and needy within that community. Recognising that, we invite people who are part of the cooperative from time to time to make a small donation or to purchase an addition bag so we can give fresh vegetables and fruit for those who are struggling in our community. Our online shop offers the option to make a donation or gift a produce bag to someone in need. Just either make a donation or purchase the ‘Gift a Bag’ option and come delivery day, we’ll pass on your gift and you’ll be part of nurturing a caring, healthy community.

  • Volunteering

To enable food{together} Cambridge to provide fruit and vegetables at the best price we need volunteers to help other locals to pack down the crates and boxes we receive from the market on Thursday morning into the bags people order. So if you are interested in being a volunteer why not drop into our office situated at the Cambridge Baptist Church during office hours and speak to Annette about how you can help. It’s a lot of fun and a great way of building community.
